Does my Septic System really Need Routine Maintenance?

Absolutely—yes! Just like your car, your septic system needs routine care to stay in good working order. Regular maintenance not only keeps your system running efficiently but also helps prevent costly issues down the line. In fact, state guidelines require homeowners with on-site wastewater systems to either perform proper maintenance themselves or secure a maintenance contract with a licensed provider. FAQs

How often should a septic system be pumped?

The general recommendation for pumping is every 3-5 years. However, the specifics of your system and how you use it may require more or less frequent pumping.

Do you pump out septic systems and how much does it cost?

Yes. Currently our pricing is 0.69 a gallon with a 1,000 gallon minimum for residential customers and a $165 additional charge if you do not have the tank located and we need to find it. We also charge $75 a lid if we need to dig lids up to access the tank.

For Commercial customers, please contact our office so that we may provide you a customized quote suited to your site.

Do you work on gravity/conventional systems?

Yes, but we are limited to how much we can do. Many conventional systems are “grandfathered in” and no longer meet the state code. In many cases we can identify problems but are unable to modify the system in anyway without violating TCEQ rules.

Do you install new gravity systems?

Yes, if it’s appropriate for the site based on TCEQ rules. The soil type and other site factors may prevent a gravity/conventional system from being legally installed.

How much for a new aerobic septic install?

Our starting price for aerobic systems is $11,500, including two years of Septilink monitoring and 2-year warranty. It’s free to schedule a 30 min phone consultation with our Site Evaluator to get a more accurate quote. We also offer site evaluation and design plans for $800 which you can take to your installer of choice.

How do I cancel my maintenance membership?

If you need to cancel your membership, simply reach out to our customer service team. Our membership coordinator will be able to assist you in cancelling your membership.

What does the light on my septic mean?

It depends on what type of system you have. It could be indicating a problem with your aerator or it could be indicating a high water level condition.
